We are exploring and developing technologies such as virtual reality to promote health and screen cognitive function at home. Monitoring people with cognitive impairment could be supported by home-based technology.
Our Ambient Assisted Living Suite was cloned into a virtual reality environment where the patient can be virtually immersed into the Suite and perform home living activities. This approach will provide an objective evaluation of cognitive processes such as memory loss or thinking and judgment that are greater than normal age-related changes.
eTools for Health Promotion
We are exploring smart solutions for preventive health promotion for older adults and in-home rehabilitation for people with neurologic conditions. Examples of technologies developed by RTLab involve but are not limited to, sensors, virtual reality, mobile applications, and artificial intelligence.
